I read with sadness via all plaidout that J.L. Powell’s flagship store had recently shuttered–I’ve always wanted to visit their Three Oaks, Michigan location. While much of their apparel is out of my price-range, it all still gains my admiration. I’ve been getting the J.L. Powell catalogue for a couple years now and always really appreciate the story-telling, execution and craft behind this young brand (2006) and the quality of the products. So I was pleasantly surprised to learn about J.L. Powell films and how they recently captured their Spring 2011 look with a short adventure film.
This one features co-founder and model, Josh Powell, and local guide Garth Thompson (see guides here), bonefishing on Exuma in the Bahamas. I’ve got an agency conference in Coral Gables in a month and now I’m certain I’m going to tack on a weekend of fishing…perhaps in Exuma or maybe Islamorda.
